It has not lost its edge over the years, and there are still crowds averaging around 300, although capacity is 800. Now it is more of a punk-rock castle that showcases such acts as Star Vehicle, a local celebrity noise band. Fireside Bowl is rarely used as a bowling alley these days. At that time Bowling was very popular, Chicago being a blue collar town, was a bowling mecca.
